First, select a name for your company. To gain an exclusive right to the name, you should report it to the Trade Register maintained by the National Board of Patents and Registration (NBPR).
Open a bank account for your business. The company will require a bank account to pay share capital, process payment transactions and support accounting.
Establishing and registering a business requires start-up notification forms and establishment documents.
In addition to this, you must register the new company in the Trade Register and various Tax Administration registers. This can be done using a single start-up notification form (Y form).
You can find all the forms and relevant instructions on these pages.
You can also establish a limited liability company online. You can do this through the BIS online service (available in Finnish and Swedish), or you can create a workspace at My Enterprise Finland. Through the My Enterprise Finland service, you also gain access to a wealth of other useful services (requires logging in with online banking credentials).
