An entrepreneur may arrange for his/her own occupational health care to prevent health hazards and disadvantages due to work. Occupational health care services can be arranged through a municipal health care centre, a private institution (such as a medical centre) or be provided by an occupational health care professional.
Entrepreneurs are entitled to compensation from Kela for the expenses of health care arranged for themselves.
The reimbursement cover 60 % of the cost of occupational health care and 50 % of the “necessary and reasonable” cost of medical care, up to a prescribed limit.
More information on the arrangements of occupational health care for entrepreneurs is available from local Kela offices and the Kela website.
